Values & Ethos

Values & Ethos

During the Summer Term 2019 we consulted with our stakeholders, working with children, staff and parents to come up with ideas for our school vision. We talked about the strengths of our school and what is special about it, as well as what we want to achieve. As a Church of England School we also thought about how spirituality linked to our visions and ethos. This was the result!

A loving family of learners, rooted in Christian value and mutual respect, where everyone is encouraged to achieve, aspire and flourish.

‘I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.’ Philippians 4:13

We continue to uphold our school values, these have been in place for a number of years and were also chosen by the children, who have a good understanding of how important our values are in everything we do.

Our School Values

  • Co-operation
  • Respect
  • Achievement
  • Friendship

British Values

In accordance with The Department for Education we also aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.

The Key Values are:

democracy
rule of law
individual liberty
mutual respect
tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs
